Two parliament members yesterday called each other gigolos during an exchange of words at question time in Sri Lankan Parliament.
Parliament sources said Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare Dilan Perera first called UNP MP, Ranjan Ramanayaka, of Ratnapura District, a gigolo, when a question was raised by the latter regarding the fate of Sri Lankan housemaid Rizana Nafeeq, who has been awarded death sentence in Saudi Arabia for allegedly killing an infant.
"There are gigolos in the parliament who go from here and demonstrate in front of our embassies but no problem could be solved in this manner," Minister Perera said referring to Rizana's case while replying Ramanayaka’s question.
